We have a variety of activities for our Youth and Young Adults. Check out the descriptions below and then go to that page for more detailed information. Go to the “Posts” section to learn more about signing up for Soccer.
Youth Class Meets at 9am each Sunday in the 3rd floor Youth Room. We talk about current issues and their relationship to the scriptures through activities and discussions.
5th & 6th Grade Youth Group – Meets every other month on Thursdays from 6-7 pm in the youth room in September, November, January, March, May. This group has an outhing every other month on Saturday or Sunday in October, December, Feburary,
7th – 12th Grade Youth Group- Meets each Sunday night from 6 – 7:30 pm. We eat first and then engage in conversation and games as we build fellowship. The group sponsors a number of events during the year to fund youth activities and missions.
Souper Bowl of Caring Super Bowl Sunday is the day we use soup pots to collect money for our local food banks.
Easter Egg Hunt The Saturday before Easter we have our annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children (divided up by age groups) are invited to come find the eggs and then visit with the Easter Bunny.
Cereal Drive Each fall we sponsor a Cereal Drive to support our local food pantries.
Food for Isaiah 58 Fresh vegetables and fruit is brought to church the Sunday before Thanksgiving and placed on the altar. The Youth deliver the food to Isaiah 58 for distribution the next day.
Sheltered Workshop Each year we have a Christmas Party for members of Lafayette Sheltered Workshop, which employs adults who are developmentally delayed. We have lunch, create a craft, sing songs and visit with Santa. The youth sponsor this event, but it takes many volunteer to make this happen.
Pancake Breakfast Each Palm Sunday, the youth group sponsors a “catch” all the pancakes you can eat. Proceeds are used to pay for workcamp expenses.
Pizza Making Each Febraury we make pizzas to sell on Super Bowl Sunday. Proceeds are used for workcamp expenses.
The youth sell carnations on Mother’s Day each year.
The youth sell pretzels on Father’s Day each year.
