Local Outreach

We put our hands to work in the St. Louis region

Lydia’s House is a transitional housing program for abused women and children.  The people of St. Johns prepare a meal each month for the residents of Lydia’s House.  We have decorated apartments, made arrangements for “Santa Claus” to visit the children, and often collected household items for the residents.

Habitat for Humanity We have sent at least one crew each year to work on the UCC Habitat House, as well as to contribute financially each year.  Twenty-one UCC Habitat Houses have been built in the last 15 years, we have been a part of building all of them.

Nurses for Newborns We collect baby items.

BRO (Board of Religious Organizations) We collect toys, new or gently used, to be given at Christmas time to children in need.

We Walk:

Komen Race for the Cure Team St. Johns had over 60 people walking this year.  Our team has been participating in the Race for the Cure since 1999, we’ve had as many is 12 survivors participating on our team.

MS Walk Team St. Johns had more walkers and more money raised than ever before in 2011!
